Double Conjunctions: soit...soit, ni...ni
द्वैत संयोजक: soit...soit, ni...ni
Hindi pairs या...या ('either...or') and न...न ('neither...nor') in much the same structural way French pairs soit...soit and ni...ni. The one real trap: French ni...ni still requires the separate negation particle ne before the verb, whereas Hindi's न...न, like English 'neither...nor', already carries its own negation and needs no extra negative word.

व्याकरण तुलना
soit...soit ≈ या...या = 'either...or'
Tu peux choisir soit le poisson soit la viande.
तुम या तो मछली या मांस चुन सकते हो।
soit...soit presents two alternatives, structurally parallel to Hindi's या...या — no extra negation is involved, and the pairing translates almost word for word in both directions.
ni...ni = 'neither...nor' — still needs ne, unlike Hindi's self-contained न...न
Je n'aime ni le café ni le thé.
मुझे न कॉफ़ी पसंद है न चाय।
Unlike ou ('or'), which needs no ne, the pairing ni...ni is a negative structure and requires ne before the verb, just like ne...pas. Hindi's न...न already carries its negation baked directly into the words themselves, exactly like English 'neither...nor', and adds no separate negative particle to the verb — मुझे न कॉफ़ी पसंद है न चाय needs nothing extra. Leaving out the ne in French, a natural instinct if you're thinking in Hindi, produces an ungrammatical French sentence — always check for ne whenever ni...ni appears, even though Hindi doesn't ask you to double-mark the negation this way.
The indefinite article usually drops after ni
Je n'ai ni frère ni sœur.
मेरा न भाई है न बहन।
As with other negations, the indefinite article (un/une) is typically dropped after ni before a noun. Hindi has no article to drop in the first place, so this specific mechanical detail doesn't transfer either way — but Hindi's न भाई न बहन ends up looking similarly bare to the French, just for an unrelated reason.
Bonus: non seulement...mais aussi ≈ सिर्फ़...ही नहीं, बल्कि...भी
Non seulement il est intelligent, mais aussi très gentil.
वह सिर्फ़ होशियार ही नहीं, बल्कि बहुत अच्छा भी है।
This double-conjunction pattern, non seulement...mais aussi, mirrors Hindi's सिर्फ़...ही नहीं, बल्कि...भी directly — both languages front-load 'not only' and close with an 'also/too' word, so this particular structure transfers cleanly between French and Hindi.
