Beyond sein and haben, regular German verbs follow one predictable ending pattern across all six persons — and a small set of common verbs additionally change their stem vowel for du and er/sie/es, a wrinkle worth drilling early.

Tamil person-endings change predictably and the verb's root vowel never shifts depending on who's doing the action. Most German verbs behave the same way — mach- stays mach- across every person, only the ending changes. But a specific list of common verbs (fahren, essen, sehen, lesen, nehmen, sprechen, geben) additionally swap their stem vowel only in the du and er/sie/es forms (a→ä, e→i or ie) — a quirk with no Tamil counterpart. Memorize this short list of stem-changing verbs individually; the ending pattern around them stays fully regular.
