Lesson 3A1
Numbers 1–10
संख्याएँ १–१०
Spanish numbers 1–10 are simple standalone words, and Hindi's एक–दस are simple standalone words too — but unlike Spanish's uno/una, Hindi's एक never changes form for gender at all.
Grammar Comparison
व्याकरण तुलना
uno changes for gender; Hindi's एक doesn't
Spanish
un libro (one book, masc.) / una casa (one house, fem.)
Hindi
एक किताब / एक घर — 'एक' नहीं बदलता
uno ('one') is the only number 1–10 that changes form to match the gender of the noun it counts — un for masculine nouns, una for feminine. Hindi's एक stays exactly the same either way (एक किताब, एक घर) — Hindi shows gender agreement on adjectives and verbs instead, never on the number word itself.
