Self-Introduction, Countries & Nationalities
अपना परिचय, देश और राष्ट्रीयताएँ
Introducing yourself in Spanish pulls together several things from earlier lessons at once — ser for identity, gender-agreeing nationality words — and nationality adjectives change for gender exactly the way any other Spanish adjective does, the same instinct Hindi's own gender-agreeing adjectives already trained.
Grammar Comparison
व्याकरण तुलना
Me llamo... / Soy de...: the two opening lines
Me llamo Ana. Soy de España. (My name is Ana. I am from Spain.)
मेरा नाम अना है। मैं स्पेन से हूँ।
Me llamo (literally 'I call myself') is the standard way to give your name — Hindi's more direct मेरा नाम ... है maps onto Spanish's alternative mi nombre es Ana rather than onto me llamo word-for-word, so don't translate मेरा नाम है literally; learn me llamo as its own fixed phrase. soy de + country uses ser for a permanent, identity-level fact, matching Hindi's ... से हूँ.
Nationality adjectives agree in gender, like any other adjective
Es mexicano. (He is Mexican.) / Es mexicana. (She is Mexican.)
हिंदी में भी विशेषण लिंग के अनुसार बदल सकते हैं, जैसे लंबा/लंबी
Nationality words are ordinary adjectives, so they follow the same -o/-a gender-agreement rule covered earlier — mexicano for a man, mexicana for a woman. This is the same instinct Hindi's own gender-agreeing adjectives (लंबा/लंबी, अच्छा/अच्छी) already trained, just applied to a new category of word.
