Hindi draws a similar value-judgment line for 'because of': की वजह से/के कारण lean neutral or negative, while की बदौलत ('thanks to/by the grace of') is reserved for a positive outcome — mirroring French's split between à cause de and grâce à almost exactly.

French splits 'because of' by whether the outcome is good or bad: à cause de leans negative or neutral, while grâce à is reserved for a positive result. Hindi already makes this same distinction: की वजह से/के कारण stays neutral-to-negative (बारिश की वजह से ट्रेन छूट गई, 'missed the train because of the rain'), while की बदौलत is kept specifically for crediting someone or something with a good outcome (शिक्षक की बदौलत सफल हुआ, 'succeeded thanks to the teacher') — you can't swap them any more than you can swap à cause de and grâce à. Because Hindi already enforces this same value-judgment split, the only real task here is learning which French word goes with which side, not the underlying logic itself.

faute de + noun/infinitive names an absence as the cause of a problem. Hindi's की कमी से ('due to a lack of') does the identical job, समय की कमी से मैं ख़त्म नहीं कर पाया, matching faute de temps word for word in structure. It rounds out the concession/cause preposition set alongside malgré (despite), pendant (during/for), à cause de, and grâce à — all prepositions taking a plain noun, none of them triggering the subjonctif the way their clause-based cousins (bien que, pour que) do, exactly as none of their Hindi counterparts (के बावजूद, की वजह से, की बदौलत, की कमी से) ever touch Hindi's own subjunctive either.
