काम और करियर
Hindi speakers already know from earlier lessons that French pairs specific prepositions with specific verbs in ways that don't always match a single Hindi postposition. postuler pairs with pour (or à) for 'applying' to a position — Hindi's आवेदन करना ('to apply') pairs with के लिए, which lines up neatly with pour most of the time, but French still splits this idea across two possible prepositions where Hindi uses just one.

व्याकरण तुलना
postuler à / pour un poste — applying for a position
J'ai postulé pour ce poste la semaine dernière.
मैंने पिछले हफ़्ते इस पद के लिए आवेदन किया।
postuler pairs with pour (or, less commonly, à) before the position — postuler pour un emploi, postuler à un poste. Hindi's आवेदन करना ('to apply') pairs with के लिए ('for the sake of') — मैंने इस पद के लिए आवेदन किया — which maps onto pour reasonably well most of the time. But के लिए is a single fixed postposition in Hindi, while French splits this idea across two possible prepositions depending on the verb and context, so don't assume every Hindi के लिए phrase will automatically point you to pour rather than à when talking about jobs.
