il faut + infinitif for general recommendations — Hindi's चाहिए is impersonal too

Hindi's चाहिए never conjugates for the subject — the subject appears as an oblique pronoun (हमें, 'to us') while चाहिए itself stays invariant, just like French il faut, where il is a fixed impersonal pronoun, not a stand-in for a specific person. This is why il faut works for any subject with no change at all: Il faut réduire nos déchets could just as easily be addressed to one person or a whole nation, exactly like हमें/मुझे/उन्हें ... चाहिए only changes the oblique pronoun, never चाहिए itself. Later (at B2) you'll meet il faut que + subjonctif for recommendations aimed at a specific person or group — a distinction (general vs. targeted obligation) that Hindi's चाहिए doesn't mark at all, so that piece will be genuinely new.
