'En revanche' y 'par contre' significan lo mismo

'En revanche' es la forma cuidada y 'par contre' la coloquial, pero ambas corresponden a 'en cambio' y 'por el contrario'. Los puristas franceses condenaron durante décadas 'par contre', hoy plenamente aceptado al hablar — una polémica muy parecida a la que el español tuvo con 'en base a'. 'Cependant' y 'néanmoins' equivalen a 'sin embargo' y 'no obstante'.
