Comentar datos es una tarea frecuente en exámenes avanzados y en presentaciones de trabajo. Los verbos de variación son pocos y forman un conjunto cerrado.

Conviene aprender los verbos por parejas, porque siempre aparecen en oposición: augmenter y diminuer, monter y baisser, doubler y reducir a la mitad. Para intensificar se añaden adverbios como 'fortement', 'légèrement' y 'considérablement'. La construcción 'passer de... à...' describe la variación entre dos valores y corresponde a 'pasar de... a...'.
