'La manchette' es el titular destacado, y 'la une' es la primera página entera. El español usa 'titular' y 'portada' para distinguirlos, así que la separación te resulta natural, aunque las palabras francesas no se parezcan. Fíjate en 'la chronique', que es la columna firmada, y en 'le récit', que es la narración.
