Telugu's -నప్పుడు ('when/at the time that') attaches to a verb the same way whether you're describing a single completed past moment or a repeated, habitual, present, or future situation — no separate suffix is needed for either case. German forces a choice: als exclusively for a single, completed event in the past, and wenn for everything else (repeated past events, present, future, or hypothetical). This isn't really a comparison so much as a warning: build a fresh habit of asking 'was this a one-time past event?' before picking als or wenn, since Telugu's single -నప్పుడు gives you no instinct to fall back on.
