Celebrations & Holidays

వేడుకలు మరియు పండుగలు

Talking about birthdays, weddings, and festivals is a recurring A2 topic, and German's fixed congratulatory phrases work as standalone formulas you memorize whole — exactly like the festival greetings Telugu speakers already reach for.

Fixed congratulation formulas, not built from scratch

German

Herzlichen Glückwunsch! / Alles Gute zum Geburtstag! (Congratulations! / Happy birthday!)

Telugu

అభినందనలు! / పుట్టినరోజు శుభాకాంక్షలు! (Congratulations! / Birthday greetings!)

Both languages reach for a fixed exclamation rather than a full grammatical sentence when congratulating someone — Herzlichen Glückwunsch doesn't literally build from a subject and verb any more than అభినందనలు ('congratulations', itself just a plural noun with no verb at all) does. Learn these as complete, unchanging units you can drop into any celebration, the same way you already use them in Telugu.
