સૂચન આપવાનો એક સામાન્ય રસ્તો Why don't we...? છે — question-formation પાઠમાં શીખેલા સવાલના રૂપને અહીં સૂચન આપવા માટે વાપરવામાં આવે છે.

Why don't we...? ખરેખર કોઈ કારણ પૂછતું નથી — આ એક નરમ સૂચન છે. આ જ ઢાંચાની સરખામણી How about...? અને Let's... સાથે પણ થઈ શકે, ત્રણેયનો અર્થ લગભગ સરખો જ છે. ગુજરાતીમાં પણ...જઈએ તો? અથવા ચાલો ને? જેવા સવાલ-રૂપ સૂચન માટે વપરાય છે, કોઈ સીધો હુકમ નહીં — બંને ભાષાઓમાં સૂચનને સવાલના રૂપમાં લપેટીને નરમ બનાવવામાં આવે છે.
