Lesson 14.55A1

Clothing & Colors

దుస్తులు మరియు రంగులు

Colors in German are adjectives, so they lean on the adjective-ending logic you'll formalize later — but as vocabulary, the colors and clothing items themselves are simple, high-frequency words worth learning now.

Grammar Comparison

వ్యాకరణ పోలిక

Colors are adjectives — expect them to take endings later

German

ein rotes Hemd (a red shirt) — rot takes the -es ending, exactly like gut in ein gutes Kind

Telugu

ఎర్రటి చొక్కా (a red shirt) — ఎర్ర never changes

Color words (rot, blau, grün) behave exactly like any other German adjective — invariant in Telugu, which never changes an adjective's form for gender, number, or case, but taking an ending in German that depends on the noun's gender and case, following the same der/ein pattern you'll formalize in A2's adjective-endings lesson. For now, just learn the base color words; the endings will click once you've built that lesson's full pattern.
