Media & News
మీడియా మరియు వార్తలు
News vocabulary is where you'll meet the reported-speech అని pattern from this course constantly in the wild — headlines and articles are built almost entirely from quoting sources.
Grammar Comparison
వ్యాకరణ పోలిక
News language is reported speech in practice
Laut Experten ist die Lage ernst. (According to experts, the situation is serious — laut signals a relayed claim)
నిపుణుల ప్రకారం, పరిస్థితి తీవ్రంగా ఉంది అని చెప్పబడింది. (అని + -బడు passive marks it as a relayed claim)
Everything you learned about dass and అని in the reported-speech lesson is the actual grammar of news writing — journalists are constantly relaying what sources said rather than asserting facts directly. Here అని pairs with the -బడు passive auxiliary (చెప్పబడింది, 'is said/reported') to distance the writer from the claim, much like laut does for German. Recognizing laut ('according to') as a signal that you're reading someone else's claim, not a confirmed fact, will make real German news far more readable — and it's a preview of the fuller Konjunktiv I treatment waiting for you at B2.
