As reações espontâneas em francês são curtas e muito frequentes na conversa. Duas delas, 'tant mieux' e 'tant pis', formam um par que vale aprender junto.

'Tant mieux' celebra uma boa notícia e 'tant pis' aceita uma má notícia sem drama, correspondendo a 'que bom' e 'paciência' ou 'azar'. São expressões curtíssimas e extremamente frequentes, e usá-las na hora certa dá um ar bastante natural à sua fala. Note também 'dommage', que equivale a 'que pena'.
