A dissertação francesa segue um formato rígido em três tempos — tese, antítese e síntese — que difere bastante da redação escolar brasileira. Conhecer essa estrutura é metade da nota.

O modelo francês pede que você apresente uma posição, depois a posição contrária com igual seriedade e, por fim, uma superação das duas. Isso contrasta com a redação dissertativa brasileira, que costuma defender uma única tese do começo ao fim com proposta de intervenção no final. Escrever em francês defendendo apenas um lado é frequentemente penalizado.
